RN Program

Whether you are new to nursing or are already an LPN, Ambria's RN program can help you achieve your goal of becoming a professional nurse.

Upon successful completion of the AAS program, graduates receive an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree and are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam to become a registered nurse.

Applicants seeking admission into the AAS program are required to meet the following requirements below. Please note, meeting the admission requirements is not a guarantee of admission until applicants receive a formal acceptance letter.

LPN graduates with an active, unencumbered license in the state of IL have the opportunity to receive course credit and/or proficiency credit for prior coursework.

Deadlines & Mandatory Events

In order to start the program in May 2024, you must:

  • Submit all application documents by April 15, 2024
  • Complete FAFSA (Ambria OPE-ID: 041247) by April 20, 2024
  • Attend Clinial Workshop by April 20, 2024
  • Submit results to Castle Branch no later than 3:00 PM on April 25, 2024
    - Background check and drug screening results.
    - Proof of COVID vaccine series (both doses + booster)
    - If enrolling in NUR 112, ALL other clinical health requirements must be completed as well.
  • Register for classes no later than 11:59 PM on May 13, 2024
  • Attend New Student Orientation on May 16, 2024 (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
  • Attend Clinical Orientation from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on May 25, 2024
    *If enrolled in NUR 112

All applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment and must have a high school diploma or GED equivalence.

General Admission Requirements

Achieve 60% or higher on Entrance Exam (TEAS)

Take the Reading Exam or EQUIVALENT

Take the Math Exam or EQUIVALENT

Undergo Background Check and Drug Test

Complete Prerequisites or EQUIVALENT

Participate in an RN Admission Interview

Core nursing courses: $690 per credit hour
Gen-ed courses: $345 per credit hour
Miscellaneous Fees $370 Uniform and nursing lab kit
Student Services Fee $600 Applied every trimester (technology fee, clinical, lab fees)
Standardized Exam Fees $150 Applied at the end of each course
