Applicants for the BSN program must pass the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam with a cumulative score of 50% to demonstrate readiness for Ambria’s nursing program. This is a 3-hour proctored exam held at Ambria’s campus, consisting of four sections: English, Reading, Science and Math.

Applicants must be prepared to read college-level textbooks to start the nursing program at Ambria. Students can demonstrate college-ready reading skills by doing the following:

1. Submit your official transcripts to transcripts@ambria.edu, showing a minimum of 12 semester hours with a 2.0 GPA from an accredited documentation of any one of the following criteria; OR
2. Show a reading placement score that meets the benchmark of your community college or 4-year institution; OR
3. Show a Certificate/Degree earned from an accredited institution in the U.S.; OR
4. ACT Reading score of 18 or higher; OR SAT Verbal score of 450 or higher; OR
5. Take the Reading Proficiency exam at Ambria with a score of 70%

In order to learn dosage calculation, students must possess the necessary math skills. Students can demonstrate college-ready math skills by submitting official documentation of any one of the following criteria:

• Math placement score* that meets the benchmark of your community college or 4-year institution; OR
• Completion of a college-level transferrable math course at an accredited institution with a grade of C or better; OR
• ACT Math score* of 23 or higher; OR
• SAT Math score* of 540 or higher.

*ACT, SAT, and math placement test scores are valid for two years from the date the test was taken.
*Transfer course credit is valid for five years from the date of the course completion.

Exceptions. Applicants who already have earned a degree whether it is associates, bachelors, or masters DO NOT need to submit a high school diploma but must submit copies of their diplomas.
