Reporting directly to the Dean of Nursing, the Instructor, RN supports the College in fulfillment of its mission, purpose, and goals by focusing extensively on facilitating student learning with prescribed course and program methods. Our faculty provides professional leadership and support; serves as an educator, role model, mentor, and facilitator.
The Instructors we hire create an educational environment which fosters innovation, responsiveness, and accountability while vigorously upholding a culture of academic integrity. The right candidate will provide program-specific expertise and be actively engaged in relevant department initiatives. Additionally, they will support University, Campus, and departmental goals in order to assure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure, internal consistency, and graduate outcomes that meet student learning, workplace, and placement expectations. They will also actively and substantively participate in assessment of student learning activities to maximize the potential for students to learn what is necessary to meet prescribed outcomes.
• Preference will be given to those candidates demonstrating a high level of professional expertise on the basis of theory and clinical-based experience in medical/surgical nursing and one other nursing specialty including Psychiatric Mental Health, or Gerontology.
• Recent classroom experience or clinical teaching in an accredited nursing program.
• Knowledge of curriculum design and development.
1. Acts as a resource to all caregivers regarding nursing practice and use of equipment/ supplies in area of expertise.
2. Assists in the design and implementation of nursing education programs, activities or new process/equipment using PeaceHealth training standards, processes, templates and course documentation forms.
3. Participates on teams and partners on development of standardized cross-regional clinical, nursing or quality guidelines, protocols or training curriculum in area of expertise.
4. Coordinates and provides department-specific orientation for newly hired nursing and clinical staff.
5. Conducts learning needs assessment, facilitates practice and process changes in assigned area of expertise.
6. Evaluates competency and identifies team or individual caregiver performance gaps.
Designs learning experiences and action plans to assist those unable to meet competency.
7. Researches best practice in order to promote evidence-based nursing practice.
8. Maintains professional knowledge of clinical focus area, current research, and effective educational strategies.
9. Assesses caregiver satisfaction, patient quality indicators and evaluates education effectiveness.
10. Assures training and competency are documented using standard tools and systems.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Ambria College of Nursing was founded in 2006 as Americare Institute. Since 2006, Americare Institute has been the leading provider of Practical Nursing education in Illinois offered by a small private school. It has the biggest LPN program among private schools and has the highest NCLEX pass rate.

In 2009, it received approval from the U.S Department of Education to offer Financial Aid or Title IV. In the same year, it was approved by the Illinois Board of Higher Education as a college.

On March 15, 2011 Americare Institute received a full Associates Degree in Nursing approval from the Illinois Board of Nursing.

Americare Institute changed its name to Ambria College of Nursing to reflect its RN program.
